Camp Winthrop, new at the Virginian Resort

The first ever Camp Winthrop at the Virginian Resort in Wild West Winthrop Washington is set to kick off in mid June announced William May, President of Sunspot Resorts the company that owns and operates the resort.

"Everything about Winthrop revolves around cowboys and horses" explained Dusty Thumbs, head wrangler, "And now visitors can enjoy that atmosphere with a traditional family camp schedule of fun and activities."

Visitors can learn to lasso. Ride a bronco. Rope a cow. Create Crafts. Campfire sing-a-longs. Catch a fish. Float the river. Cowboy poetry & storytelling. Bunk at the Virginian Resort in private rooms. Eat grub at Vittles Cowboy Cafe. More fun than a barrel of possums.

The three, five & seven day camps are all inclusive prices; food, lodging and activities. A good outing for families, churches or other groups up to 80 folks at a time. "With the newly renovated Virginian Resort at the center of the camp, no one has to sleep out on the ground, " noted Ross Stimmel a long time worker at the resort.

Family Camp runs Memorial Day through Labor Day. Special camps year round like Cowboy Cooking, Senior Sneak, Scrap Bookers, Christmas Camp or Trout Out. For more information call 509-996-2535. Space is limited.
